For the 150th anniversary of its founding, we created a documentary commissioned by Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun––an important Upper East Side, modern orthodox synagogue that played a role in the development and transformation of American Jewish life starting after the Civil War.

In the early 20th century, many Jewish immigrants sought a way to maintain their Jewish identity while fulfilling also their American identity. The legacy of KJ, its community and its leaders is a deepening of the connection between Jewish religious tradition and modern American patriotism.

This documentary production features many interviews, a deep dive into dozens boxes filled with archival material (what treasures were found!) and the filming of various verité scenes. The result is a 35 minute film we are very proud of.
